William the Translator

About This Book

Commemorating the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale's 1526 New Testament, this print volume brings together ten conference studies by Bryan C. Ross, David W. Reid, and Alex Bojko. Explore the historical setting and life of Tyndale, the 1525 Cologne fragment and 1526 Worms New Testament, his Old Testament translations, and his choices as a translator. The studies also examine the famous ploughboy statement, Tyndale's theological writings, his influence on the King James Bible, and his lasting legacy in the English language and the history of the English Bible.
